Fertility treatment can be a confusing process for first-time patients: How do I know if I am infertile? Am I too old to undergo treatment? Is IVF (in vitro fertilization) the only option? How expensive is it? These are very common questions, and we want to help you by addressing them in our “Getting Started: Being More Successful from the Beginning” workshop.

At this free workshop, you will learn from one of our expert physicians about the causes of infertility, the treatments we offer, and the resources available to help you in the process. “It is an invaluable, comprehensive guide to all that we offer at the Center,” says David Coates, Administrative Director at CWRC. “It covers the financial aspects, social services, support groups, and all the other tools that can help you navigate your treatment experience.” In addition, “the workshop helps you to optimize your chances of having a successful treatment and healthy pregnancy,” adds Dr. Nataki Douglas, one of our fertility specialists.

Unlike most medical experiences, fertility treatment is an ongoing process that requires time and planning. This is why educating and informing patients from the start is so important. “I have heard too many patients say, ‘If I had only known about this earlier, it would have helped me so much,’” says Coates. By becoming educated about the many aspects of fertility care prior to starting treatment, patients can take advantage of this valuable knowledge from the start rather than learning as they go along.

The “Getting Started” workshop is usually offered the first Wednesday of each month. The next workshop will be held on Wednesday, December 6th at 6:30 pm at the CWRC Columbus Circle location. The event is free and open to the public. To register, visit our upcoming events page.
