The American Society for Reproductive Medicine recommends that you see a reproductive medicine specialist when conception does not occur after one year of unprotected intercourse for women under the age of 35, six months in women 35-39, anyone over the age of 40, or if there are known problems causing infertility. If you suspect you are experiencing issues with your fertility or want to discuss options for fertility preservation, it is highly recommended that you schedule an initial consultation with one of our doctors as soon as possible.

There are eleven doctors in this practice, both male and female, who see all of our patients. They are highly qualified, Board Certified/Eligible physicians who specialize in all fertility cases. They work as a group practice and consult with each other about your treatment plan on a regular basis. Having a group practice also allows our Center to be one of the few practices that remains open 365 days a year for treatment (consultations and follow-up visits occur during regular business hours). You may request a particular physician for your initial consultation, but you will also be seen by other doctors during the course of your treatment. I have been turned away from other fertility centers due to my age or other conditions. Can CWRC help me?
Each patient is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. CWRC has helped women of many ages and with complex conditions achieve their goals of pregnancy.
I do not have a male partner but am interested in my present or future options for pregnancy. What are my options?
We work with a diverse patient clientele and are happy to discuss with you your options for achieving a successful pregnancy.
It is highly encouraged that your spouse or partner accompanies you to the initial consultation, but it is not required. If your partner is not available, you are also welcome to bring a family member for support.
Once the pregnancy has been confirmed over 2-3 blood tests and scans and a fetal heartbeat has been detected (usually around 8-10 weeks after conception), patients are discharged to their OB/GYN.

Yes, we offer a weekly support group for patients of CWRC every Tuesday from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at our Columbus Circle location led by our Patient Services Manager, a licensed clinical social worker, or another member of our team. The group is designed to provide patients with emotional and psychosocial support and create a supportive atmosphere for sharing concerns and experiences.
Prior to your first visit, contact your insurance company and ensure that you have infertility benefits. Be sure to ask about coverage for the initial consultation, diagnostic testing, medication, and treatment. Can I use my health care flexible spending account (FSA) or health saving account towards treatment?
Many health care FSAs and health savings account plans include fertility treatment as an eligible expense. Please check with your provider to determine eligibility and restrictions. A letter of medical necessity may be required for authorization for reimbursement of specific procedures and treatments.

I am interested in treatment at CWRC, but I do not live in the area. Is it still possible for me to become a patient?
Yes, we have many patients who select CWRC for their fertility care but live out of town or internationally. They choose CWRC based on our excellent reputation, services offered, and expertise in basic and complex treatment. You will be required to come to the Center for two separate visits: the first visit is an initial consultation, with the possibility of an orientation class (if you are undergoing IVF). The second visit is for the treatment procedure. Unfortunately, we cannot do consultations over the phone. We will, however, work with your local physician to facilitate any tests or services that can be performed near your home to minimize your travel to the Center.
We request at least 24-hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
